summer aloha scent ...

the most wonderful fragrance can be found in our backyard right now. i love hawa'ii, and i love plumerias! also known to the Kiwi as frangipani. we have 11 plants in our yard, only two are blooming right now.
we were stunned to have a cane that we received a year ago, turn into wonderful pink/purpley and yellow blooms, with about a 3 inch wing span! jejejejeje Best guess by my expert friends at work is that it is an India species.

Then this last week, another one of our canes bloomed. We have had this one for over a year, i grew it from a cane too. nice scent.

well, so can i! actually we both have been busy busy, and writing the bloggletts have taken back seat to creating beautiful treasures in glass, as the kiwi blogged, and working on new stamp designs. but every once and awhile, i take time to sit on one of our adirondack chairs and stare out to the yard, taking in all the spring, now summer, flowers.

i love it when the hummers are out and about chirping and drinking from the spherey, when the mocking birds  fluff their tails and make all kinds of those threatening clucks, tit mice in the trees, finches hanging upside down on the thistle sack, and the phoebes, with their rock and roll haircuts, swoopping down to pinch an unsuspecting moth from flight! ok the heat sucks, and i'm getting weary of it, but i love the serenity of the yard, esp during june gloom, which for us inlanders, doesn't last long enough!
